The culmination of this year’s 32nd Probaltica Baltic Music Festival was a marshal concert to mark the 105th anniversary of the birth of the province’s patron saint, St John Paul II. The Sinfonia Varsovia conducted by Antoni Wit and the Academic Choir of Kazimierz Wielki University as well as soloists performed, a total of 170 artists.
The programme consisted of Włodzimierz Kotoński’s Highland Dances, Karol Szymanowski’s Second Violin Concerto, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki’s Beatus and Wojciech Kilar’s Victoria. The last two works were dedicated to the Polish Pope by their creators.
The regional government traditionally supports the organisation of the Probaltica Festival.
